Peter Brown

Civic Spark, Gold Country Broadband Consortium

Born and raised in Santa Clarita, California, Peter grew up in the heart of the Southern California chaparral, with the beach on one side, and the desert on the other. After living for a short while in northern Michigan, he went off to college in Boston, where he received a Bachelor of Music from Boston University, and later spent two years in Germany teaching English as a second language. Since the beginning of 2018, he has been back in sunny California, where he worked as an Americorps member for the California State Parks, before beginning his current position with the CivicSpark. Peter is excited to join SBC in the Gold Country Broadband Consortium project, where he hopes to make a difference in the lives of underserved communities while learning the ins and outs of policy in the Sierra Nevada region.

Personal Highlights

In his free time, Peter enjoys hiking, reading, and live music.  On the weekends, you may find him napping on a mountaintop, reading a book on the shores of Lake Tahoe or, on occasion, at the opera in San Francisco.
