Conner Rettig

Collaborative Solar Program Fellow

Conner hails from South Lake Tahoe where his interest in the intersection of the environment and communities was first conceived. While completing his Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Willamette University, he led a grant-funding committee for campus-wide sustainability projects while also coordinating several community service programs. Upon graduation in May of 2017 he participated in a Boston-based non-profit training program called the Forest Foundation. While there he interned with the environmental justice organization Alternatives for Community and Environment which focuses on empowering low-income communities and communities of color within the Boston metropolitan area. Working with Sierra Business Council he will be conducting outreach to public and private entities throughout the Sierra Nevada to further implement the Solar in Your Community Challenge. He is grateful to be working with SBC as a Climate Corps Fellow and hopes to pursue a career in sustainability and social justice.

Personal Highlights:

On his free time Conner enjoys long distance running, cross-country skiing, and reading post-colonial literature. Having studied abroad in Ecuador, Sweden, and Italy, respectively, he now hopes to travel more around the United States.
