Applying sound principles of development
Sierra Business Council is committed to helping Sierra towns avoid being “loved to death” as they struggle with development pressures. SBC believes we can add value to our existing towns by protecting our historic downtowns, developing high quality walkable and interconnected neighborhoods, and protecting the open space and natural assets that provide such a high quality of life to Sierra residents.
To advance this goal, SBC published Planning for Prosperity, a visionary award-winning guide to land-use planning in the Sierra. Since that time, SBC has offered its services to promote positive models for development and documented successful approaches with other communities.
