No Time to Rest on Past Success: The 17th Annual Lake Tahoe Summit

Helping Sierra Communities Adapt to Climate Change

Over the past 3 years Sierra Business Council has been working with PG&E to engage local governments to be proactive in understanding and mitigating the effects of climate change at the local level. One way this has been achieved is by bringing statewide resources to our rural jurisdictions, which would otherwise not have access to this statewide funding for energy efficiency upgrades.

On the Road:
Small Towns in the Sierra

Today I went to Oroville, a small town on the banks of the Feather River, to do an energy audit of the downtown auditorium. You can see the signs that times have been tough, but there are also beautiful buildings with manicured yards and clearly people who have taken it upon themselves to bring their idea of what a great business is to their small town.

Light Swap Events Save Local Businesses Money and Energy

I used to live in beautiful Nevada City. Recently on a trip back to visit friends, I was delighted to hear from a few local merchants that they had participated in Sierra Business Council's recent "Light Swap" event and are thrilled with their new retail lighting.
